Planning Notice Installation and Removal: What to Arrange

Why installing and removing a planning notice belong on one job: dates, evidence of the full display period, extensions and what happens when it ends.

A planning notice is not finished when it goes up. It has to stay up for the whole advertising period, and it should come down afterwards. Arranging installation and removal together, on one job, keeps the dates straight and gives you a single record covering the entire period.

Why one job, not two

When the same job covers both visits, the display end date is recorded at the start, the removal visit is booked against it, and the before-and-after photographs sit in one report history. If a planning officer or an objector later asks whether the notice was up for the whole period, the answer is one file.

What we arrange

  • Installation visit before the date the notice must be up by, photographed to the checklist.
  • Optional checks during the period if you ask for them — each visit photographed, with replacement or re-securing if the notice has been damaged.
  • Removal visit after the display end date you give us. We do not remove early unless you confirm the authority has agreed.
  • After-removal photograph of the site, so the record shows the notice was taken down.

If the period changes

Advertising periods are sometimes extended, restarted or paused by the authority. Tell us and we move the removal date. If the authority requires the notice to be re-displayed, we can reinstall it and photograph it again on the same job.

Removal only

We also remove notices we did not install. Send the site address and the end date, and we remove the notice and photograph the site afterwards.

What to send

The authority's instructions, the display period, the site address and access details. If you already have an installed notice, a photo of it helps our installer find it.
